Lighthouse Charity Team to the Rescue

Moody Memorial Methodist Church in Galveston was used as a shelter for hurricane Katrina. On weekends, the team prepared and served 2-3 meals daily for 300 people per meal.
First Baptist Church and the Covenant of the Word Shelter in Texas City were also provided with the assistance of LCT during Katrina. Prepared 3 meals a day for all emergency personnel for the City Of Friendswood, The Emergency Response Center, Friendswood EMS, Friendswood Fire Department, Friendswood Police Department, Seabrook Emergency Management Team, Part of Galveston Fire Department and Galveston County Drainage District, as well as the Emergency Shelter of Evacuees for Hurricane Rita.
Provided equipment and food to the Beaumont area after Hurricane Rita struck. Prepared and served 2500 hot lunches to Bolivar Peninsula residents that were without food, water, and electricity.
