The Lighthouse Charity Team is a 501C3 Non-Profit Organization that provides volunteers and cooking equipment, for causes that benefit the Galveston County area during disasters and community building efforts.
President’s Report – March 2023
Dear friends, volunteers and sponsors
The new Board of Directors of the Lighthouse Charity Team has been busy proudly serving our organization for a full year. Our priorities last year were to implement a collaborative approach involving open communication, shared decision-making, and a commitment to transparency at every level, while analyzing and cutting our costs. We were successful in those endeavors and believe that this approach set a new solid foundation for our organization. And, while we will continue to build trust with our supporters, attract new donors, and make a difference in the lives of those we serve, there is still much to do.
The Board of Directors is committed to collaboratively continuing to work together leading our non-profit cooking team in the fulfillment of our mission, “People Helping People”, by cooking for a cause throughout Galveston County. We will continue our emphasis on transparency and, as always, focus on our fiduciary responsibility by watching our costs and continuing to raise funds. Throughout our work in the community, we will continue to donate volunteer labor and equipment to help those in need, making sure our efforts are both effective and remain within the realm of our mission.
One primary focus for us this year is recruiting more volunteers, and we need your help. If you or someone you know has time and wants to make a positive impact in our community, please consider volunteering with our team. We could cite the many benefits that science touts about the benefits volunteering has on one’s health, well-being and sense of satisfaction, but suffice it to say that, while all those are true, the bottom line is WE NEED YOU.

We invite you to join our team of volunteers and experience the satisfaction of making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.
We help other organizations raise funds for people needing medical attention or support their families and loved ones by cooking and serving food at their fundraising events. And during a hurricane or community disaster, we provide hot food and water for victims and first responders.

We just held our 2023 fundraising gala where we celebrated our sponsors, volunteers and friends with the theme; “Thank you for being a friend”. It was gratifying to see all the smiling faces of our volunteers, friends and sponsors and a great time was had by all in attendance. We raised funds to help sustain us through this fiscal year.
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support of the Lighthouse Charity Team and look forward to working with you to create a brighter future for those in need.

Cooking for a Cause
The Lighthouse Charity Team is a 501-C-3 Non Profit Organization that provides volunteers and cooking equipment for causes that benefit the Galveston County area during disasters and community building efforts.
For over 35 years we’ve been making a difference when we show up in our red trucks and food trailers to help feed victims and First Responders of natural and man made disasters. When we aren’t working on disaster response, you’ll find us in the community helping other non-profits raise funds by offering our food and services.
Covid did not bypass us. Our fundraising efforts have been affected, along with our lower number of volunteers.
In the spirit of giving back and as the year draws to a close, we would love to be the nonprofit that you donate to. Your tax deductible donation would go a long way towards ensuring the Lighthouse Charity Team remains strong.
Come join us to see and feel what giving to your community is all about. We meet Mondays (excluding holidays) to share a meal while discussing how to help your community. Come join us at 6918 Broadway in Galveston.

Join Us Each Monday Night!
Please join us for dinner and fellowship each Monday night for our weekly meetings at 6918 Broadway St, Galveston, TX 77554.
We start socializing at 5 PM, followed by our Meeting at 6 PM. We close our meeting at 7 PM.

People Helping People – Cooking for a Cause
The Lighthouse Charity Team was founded on a love of cooking and feeding others. Like many Texans our experience began in the backyard with the brick pit where we smoked brisket, ribs, turkey and more. Now, we cook for cause. In fact we cook for many causes. Lighthouse Charity Team provides mobile food preparation trailers, trucks and volunteer labor to charitable organizations as well as emergency response to natural and man-made disasters.
Our loyal volunteers and donors invest themselves in many projects from raising money for non profits to participating in hands on programs to assist low income families and the elderly. We always look for ways we can make a difference in the life of our neighbors.
